Golf Alpine style – Have a great game on the 18-hole championship course in Bad Kleinkirchheim. For both beginners and experience, the Bad Kleinkirchheim Championship-Course is one of the most famous in Austria.
The spectacular 18-hole “Kaiserburg” championship course, laid out with great sensitivity by Don Harradine on sixty hectares in the narrow Bad Kleinkirchheim valley, offers everything a golfer could desire – a long, challenging, sporty course on a lush 6,006 metre track. Set out over a classic figure-eight loop, it offers wide fairways, quick greens and a great variety of holes.
As the highest altitude golf course in Carinthia, Bad Kleinkirchheim boasts a pleasant climate even in the hot summer months.
The heart of the event is still the selective “Kärnten – Franz Klammer” race course. On a piste length of 3,150 metres and a difference in altitude of 842 metres there are many difficult passages between the start at 1,904 metres altitude and the finish, which can also be used for the giant slalom and the slalom and guarantee contests full of suspense.

Wer sagt denn, dass eine gelungene Safari nur durch die afrikanische Steppe zu Löwen, Tigern und Elefanten führen darf? Auf Safari geht es auch im winterlich verschneiten Bad Kleinkirchheim. Nockberge statt Serengeti lautet hier die Devise, Hundegebell statt Löwengebrüll: Dafür sorgen unter anderem Sassy und Lena, zwei muntere Huskies. Die Schlittenhunde sind die sprichwörtlichen Zugnummern eines außergewöhnlichen Tages in den Kärntner Nockbergen, an dem man den Winter intensiv, urtümlich und romantisch erleben kann.
Die Teilnehmer der Schnee Safari begeben sich mit der Bergit Schlittenhunden auf Schneebahn in die ersten Ausläufer der “Schnee-Wüste” auf rund 1.800 Meter Höhe. Auf Schneeschuhen durchwandern sie das weite Weiß und erreichen eine Oase inmitten der Winterwelt – eine urige Almhütte, in der sie mit einer Kärntner Jause und einer “Frigga”, der einstigen Kost der Holzfäller, bewirtet werden. Dann ertönt fröhliches Gebell.
Die Huskies sind – auf kräftigen Pfoten und leisen Sohlen – die Stars des Tages, beliebtes Fotomotiv und temperamentvolle Fortbewegungs-mittel. Eingeteilt in Teams absolvieren alle Teilnehmer einen Schlittenhunde-Parcours, begleitet von fachkundigen Mushern, den Schlittenhundeführern. Am späten Nachmittag geht es dann wieder ins Tal – natürlich stilgerecht mit dem Rodel.
