Carinthia’s first Doppelmayr D-Line will ensure maximum comfort in the ski resort of Bad Kleinkirchheim from the 2020/21 winter season.
Bad Kleinkirchheimer Bergbahnen has been investing heavily in its facilities in the summer of 2020. The Active Park and Mountain Yoga Trail recently opened at the Biosphärenparkbahn Brunnach mountain station. And work is well underway on building Carinthia’s first and Austria’s second all-year-round roller bobsleigh run, Kaiserburg Bob. It is on course to open in October 2020.
The time has come – Bad Kleinkirchheimer Bergbahnen has started its largest construction project of the last five years
On 22 July 2020, the chairlift negotiations with the Federal Ministry were successfully concluded. Construction work started immediately afterwards on 23 July. Alongside building the chairlift, the adjacent pistes and snowmaking facilities are also being adapted. The schedule is tight and ambitious – the corporate group would therefore like to thank the following in particular: the local land owners, the federal and state authorities involved, the planning company Salzmann Ingenieure ZT GmbH, Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH, eb&p Umweltbüro GmbH, all construction companies working on the project and, last but not least, the employees of Bad Kleinkirchheimer Bergbahnen.
Maximum comfort for guests through state-of-the-art chairlift technology
The new high-performance chairlift from Doppelmayr can accommodate up to six people. It impresses with maximum comfort and a functional design that offer a quiet and relaxing journey. Optimum safety conditions are ensured by automated mechanisms, such as the patented RPD (rope position detection) system. In an emergency, the chairlift is slowed down or brought to a complete halt.
The new chairlift system has a transport capacity of 2,300 people per hour. In these times of social distancing, the new 6-seater chairlift will offer ski guests a quick, safe and comfortable way of getting from one point to the next. The new Spitzeck chairlift will serve two main runs (Spitzeck and Mallnock) from the coming winter season and will function as a high-performance connecting lift for the Nockalm/Scharte ski area.
